The CARRFLEX® Pre-Hemmed PVC Mesh is crafted from durable Carrflex® PVC material, designed specifically for advertising applications.
This product features a 40mm welded hem on both the top and bottom edges, running the full length of the roll. The profile of the welded hem ensures a smooth, printable surface edge-to-edge, reducing any potential print-head strikes during printing.
One of the primary advantages of the CARRFLEX® Pre-Hemmed PVC Mesh is the increased efficiency it offers in production. By eliminating the time-consuming and costly process of edge reinforcement, this product helps streamline the manufacturing process.
Finished Widths
The most common finished widths Carr has available on the market include 1.6m and 1.8m wide rolls, which are well suited for temporary mesh fencing applications. We can also provide 0.85m widths for barrier fencing and 2m widths for scaffolding use.
Roll Lengths & Application
To determine the ideal roll length for our customers, we consider factors such as the intended application, the maximum printer load, and ease of handling during installation. Mesh banners are often sold in panels of varying lengths, with higher-volume applications typically offered in 50m sections. These lengths offer good coverage while remaining manageable for installation on mesh fencing. To accommodate market demands and account for print production wastage, our standard roll length is 110m. We can also customize roll lengths to your specific needs.
Reinforced Hems & Eyelets
For durability, the mesh banner features welded reinforcements along the top and bottom hems, into which eyelets can be inserted at regular intervals. We recommend eyelet spacing of no more than 500mm for standard applications, and as close as 300mm for areas with high wind exposure.
The type of eyelet and the material into which it is set can affect the holding strength. To ensure optimal performance, the banner should be installed tightly with no sagging. Poor installation, such as missing fixing points or allowing the mesh to flap in the wind, can lead to failure.
Tight vs. Open Mesh Configurations
CARRFLEX® Pre-Hemmed PVC Mesh comes in a variety of knit designs, each defined by the structure of the knit and the holes in the fabric. We offer two mesh configurations ex-stock, so you can choose the ideal balance of visibility and airflow to suit your specific needs.
Open Mesh features larger holes, offering enhanced air flow, which helps to reduce wind load and pressure on the structure. This design is ideal for high-wind areas or applications where air circulation is a priority. The open mesh allows for clear visibility of your printed advertisements while minimizing wind resistance.
Tight Mesh features smaller, tighter holes that provide a greater level of privacy or brand visibility. While this design offers slightly less airflow compared to the open mesh, it ensures a high-quality print surface and greater durability in less demanding wind conditions. We also offer a wider variety of knit / openness for customer orders.
Mesh Kit
Pre-hemmed mesh does not come with a backing liner (a feature available with regular mesh), so the perforated nature of the material means that ink can pass through the holes and drip onto the machine. That is why when printing on CARRFLEX® Pre-Hemmed PVC Mesh using a mesh kit (otherwise known as ink collector) is essential not only for achieving high-quality prints but also for keeping both the mesh itself and the printer clean and in good working condition.
Summary
The CARRFLEX® Pre-Hemmed PVC Mesh is designed to provide an efficient, high-quality solution for advertising on temporary fencing and other structures. With its reinforced edges, customisable sizes, and streamlined production process, it’s an excellent choice for both large-scale and smaller installations.
